SALVATION

HOw to know Jesus

The Free Gift of Salvation

The term “saved” is found in the Bible numerous times and literally means to be “saved” from destruction or penalty that is due us. We recognize that humanity is imperfect and naturally sinful and therefore needs released from the bondage of that sinful nature. We believeJesus Christ did that for us and hence paid the ultimate penalty for our sins. Anyone who receives Jesus Christ as their Savior is redeemed from hell and will spend eternity with Christ in Heaven.

What can you do to “be saved”?

Being saved is not based on your own good works, it is based on the grace of God.  There is no good you can do to ever earn God’s grace. Jesus did everything for you when he paid the price for your sins on the cross.  Your only responsibility is to accept Christ’s death and resurrection and “to confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. (Rom 10:9)

If there is a genuine acknowledgement of Jesus Christ as Lord, your life you will instinctively change. He will help you grow as a Christian and live a life empowered by his Holy Spirit. He will begin to reveal his heart and desires for your life and give you God-given purpose and develop spiritual gifts in you to help serve others and introduce them to Christ!

Although there will be times which you will feel like you’ve failed, you will still have a deep desire to do what is right and shun what is not. If you are ready to accept this amazing gift, read on below and pray this simple prayer of salvation.

Prayer of Salvation

“Dear Jesus, thank you for creating me and for loving me, even when I’ve ignored you and gone my own way.  I realize I need you in my life, and I’m sorry for my sins.  I ask you to forgive me.  Thank you for dying on the cross for me.  As much as I know how, I want to follow you from now on.  Please come into my life and make me a new person inside.   I accept your gift of salvation.  Please help me to grow now as a Christian. Fill me the Power of your Holy Spirit and empower me be to a witness for You. In Jesus’ Name- Amen”

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
